Training video packaging. Ready for your LMS.

A finished video is only useful when employees can access it and your learning team can see the agreed completion records.

How can Probbit help with LMS packaging & accessibility?

Probbit prepares training videos for LMS delivery with an agreed package format, completion behaviour, captions and transcripts. SCORM 1.2 is the usual starting point; alternative formats and accessibility requirements are scoped against your platform and tested before handover.

What we make

What this solution includes.

A deployment specification

Agree the LMS, supported standards, devices, languages and the event that counts as completion before creating the package.

Tracking and packaging

Package the agreed module for your learning environment. Define completion, resume behaviour and any pass/fail requirements rather than assuming watching an MP4 produces a training record.

Captions and transcripts

Provide readable captions and a text alternative. Review instructional information shown only visually and agree how learners will access it.

Pilot and handover

Test launch, playback, navigation, resume and reporting in the target LMS. Deliver the files with version labels and agreed deployment instructions.

Who it's for. L&D operations, LMS administrators and learning teams managing training distribution and completion reporting.

Plan your module

What should you prepare before production?

  1. Ask the LMS administrator which package standards and completion rules the platform supports.
  2. Agree captions, transcripts, keyboard access and any visual-description requirements for the content and player.
  3. Pilot launch, resume, assessment and completion reporting with a test learner before rollout.

Moodle documents SCORM packages, activity settings and learner reports. Check your own LMS rather than assuming identical behaviour. Moodle: SCORM activity and reporting.

Scope

Scope and review requirements.

Platform access and testing

Validation requires a test environment or a nominated LMS administrator. A package cannot establish compatibility with a system it has never been tested in.

Accessibility scope

Captions alone do not establish accessibility conformance. Agree the applicable standard, player behaviour, keyboard access and review scope; the surrounding LMS also affects the learner experience.

FAQ

Questions about LMS packaging & accessibility.

Last reviewed

Is an MP4 the same as a SCORM package?

No. An MP4 contains video. A SCORM package adds a launchable learning object and communication with an LMS for the tracking behaviour supported and configured in that package.

Which learning standards do you support?

SCORM 1.2 is our usual starting point. SCORM 2004, xAPI or cmi5 requirements are discussed during scoping and depend on your platform and reporting needs. We confirm the delivery specification before production.

Can you guarantee accessibility by adding captions?

No. Captions are one part of accessibility. We agree checks for the content, player and navigation, and flag requirements that depend on your LMS. Any formal conformance assessment needs an agreed scope.

How do we know completion tracking works?

Run a pilot in the target LMS with a test learner account. Check launch, completion, resume and the reporting fields your administrators actually use before releasing the full programme.
